These students have languages other than English in their home or background, and are in the process of developing and refining their academic English proficiency for success in school.

Every school site offers standards-based English Language Development with trained, qualified ELL instructional staff as a part of the regular school day. Students develop their academic speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English while being supported with the core content curriculum.
